"But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the Lion's mouth." 2 Timothy 4:17-18

Kyle is doing much better today. As it turns out, he has Pneumonia again which was the cause of the distress yesterday and the night before. So far, the culture has produced three different organisms growing on Kyle's endotracheal tube, which means he has some sort of infection(s) in his lungs. He was re-intubated today, which means the endotracheal tube (breathing tube) was replaced. Fortunately, Kyle is responding well to the antibiotics that were started yesterday and his oxygen level has decreased to 40%...much better than the 71% he was running on Tuesday morning. The doctors will continue to closely monitor the culture to see if Kyle's course of treatment needs to be adjusted accordingly.

Kyle turned 5 weeks old yesterday. It was such a long day, I didn't have a chance to post the weekly picture of Kyle next to the straw so I am doing so now. The straw is hard to see as it blends in with his bedding, but I can't think of anything else to place next to him for a comparison of his growth/size. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

We feel so fortunate to have all of you in our lives. We thank you again for your continued prayers for Kyle, and for your encouragement to us. It means the world to us!

In Christ,

Jennifer, Joe, Madison and Kyle

Good Morning Jennifer. I have to tell you it was hard not getting an update yesterday though it was understandable you could not get to it. And, ultimately, I know Kelley would keep me posted if anything in Kyle's condition turned for the worse.
I have been watching Gabe this week while Kelley is at work. It gives me such pleasure to have him in my midst especially since he lived with me for several years of his young life. I am certain your daughter's presence produces even greater joy for you during these difficult days.
It seems always to be a good sign that Kyle responds so quickly to treatment. Thank God the staff are so alert and equipped to identify and address his needs.
The prayers and concern continue throughout the day. Laura

Hi Jennifer and Madison,
I hope you girls have been having fun together and with the Crosiers over the Spring Break. I hope Madison is reading stories to Kyle since she is getting so good at reading. Next time I have Madison we'll go pick out some books that she can read to him.

I am so glad to hear that Kyle is doing much better. And from the picture comparison he is getting sooooo BIG !!!!!

I will be in town Friday evening and left word for Joe if he wants to meet with me for a drink/meal. I also have Easter items to drop off.

Can't wait to get more pictures for my Grandma's Brag Book.

Love,
PattieCakes

Hi Jennifer and family! I am glad to hear that baby Kyle is doing much better. I can't even imagine what you are going through. I am sure you already know this but don't forget that God never gives us more than we can handle. I think your straw comparison is really good. I can really tell that Kyle is getting longer and he even looks like he is filling out a little. Baby Kyle and your family are always in our prayers. We think about you every day.
