"Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalms 55:22
I wish I could say today was a good day for Kyle, as he really does deserve a break, but unfortunately it was another rough one. As I mentioned yesterday, Kyle has had many fluctuations in his oxygen saturation's which continued to get worse last night and this morning. Kyle was given another X-ray this morning and infiltrates in his lungs have gotten worse. This, along with the oxygen saturation levels, have led his doctor to believe Kyle may have Pneumonia. To be certain, changes were made to Kyle's ventilator settings and several tests were ordered: 1.) a blood count 2.) culture of pus cells from his lungs 3.) another X-ray for 6 hours after the first was done. If the results from any of these tests were suspicious, the doctor said he would administer antibiotics and treat him as if he has pneumonia. Unfortunately, his blood count came back abnormal and his X-ray did not show any improvements from the morning. Therefore, around 7:00 PM the nurse began treating Kyle with antibiotics.
The most accurate indication of whether or not Kyle has Pneumonia is from the culture, however, this test takes the longest to complete. Tomorrow we'll have the preliminary results back, but it does take 3-5 days for the final diagnosis. Since the other tests came back as "suspicious" the physician said that the best chance for a positive outcome from any infection is to treat it prudently, which they are doing.
To make matters worse, Kyle self-extubated today, which means he pulled out his breathing tube. The nurse was changing the tape on Kyle's face that holds the breathing tube in place, and the little guy reached up and pulled the tube right out. To replace the tube, it is somewhat of an ordeal, stressful on both Kyle and the respiratory therapists. Much like he is doing in the picture above, he likes to hang onto the various tubes.
“But Jesus said, ‘Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto Me; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’ And He laid His hands on them...” (Matthew 19:13&14). May God’s healing touch go out to baby Kyle and to all your loved ones, as well.
In Christ,
Jennifer, Joe, Madison and Kyle

Dear Jennifer,
We're praying for all of you during these difficult days of recuperation from Kyle's surgery. Please continue to keep the faith. I can tell from the number of hits on your blogsite that others hold you in very high regard. Hopefully someday, these difficult times will be a distant memory. Please rest and try to take care of yourself, as Kyle needs his Mommy to continue to be his greatest champion.
With Love and Prayers,
Aunt Lynn and Uncle Bob

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11 Living Bible
Jenny,
Peace, comfort, encouragement, and healing are prayed over you and Kyle at this moment, and repeatedly throughout each day. God is big enough to meet all your needs, even as helpless and needy as Kyle is today, and even though you are walking through unfamiliar territory you never imagined you would have to face. He is walking right beside you, and loves you and Kyle more than you can imagine.
Blessings and Hugs,
Aunt Karen
Good evening Jenny & family
Just a short note to let you know we are all still praying for baby Kyle. I hope things are going better for him today, can't hardly wait till I hear from you tonight.
We had a cottage prayer meeting from church tonight, incase you don't know what they are, we gather in different houses and pray for eveyones pray request and for our revival were having soon. There were about 25 people there and we all had special prayer for baby Kyle. Everytime I see people at church they ask about him and tell me they are praying for him to. Lots of prayers are going up for him all over and I know God answers prayers.Like you said He is in the best hands when he is in GOD'S HANDS.
You are doing such a great job Jenny and thanks so much for keeping us all informed so good on what is happening. You try and get some rest as I know this is alot of stress on you being there by yourself. You take care and we all are praying for you all. We love you.
Aunt Sandra, Aunt Ruth & Aunt Jean
we all love you and pray for you every day all day long.
Hi Jennifer and Joe,
Sorry to hear about the pneumonia and self extubation to set Kyle back somewhat. The antibiotics should help (and hopefully quickly). If Kyle is strong enough to extubate himself then hopefully his strength will be as great to assist with healing and growth.
Much love and, as always, prayers for all of you.
Aunt Kathie
