Progress...

I have been a bad, bad blogger. Spring is in the air and for the first time in months we are able to play outside. I have been out with the kiddos every day. Granted, most of our time "out" is spent watching Madison's soccer games or softball. But, we can spend time outside none the less.

We met with Kyle's Developmental Specialists last Friday. We have been meeting with them every other week since the fall. Each session, they ask what new things Kyle is up to. For months, all I had to offer was, "Oh, he got a new toy. Does that count?" or "New, look at this adorable NEW outfit he is wearing!" I always got the feeling that was not the response they were looking for.

Well, this past session, I had lots of new things to share. Just since our last meeting, Kyle began rolling over, crawling, clapping his hands and waving hi and bye. Yep, that's my boy! It felt so good to finally have something to share and they were quite pleased with his progress as well.

Oh, and Kyle learned all of the above while cutting four new teeth. He cut two teeth on the bottom in December, but since then, NOTHING. My overactive imagination actually began to think well, when he was born his heart, lungs, eyes, nerves, skin, even his ear lobes, weren't yet developed. Maybe he was born so early somehow his top teeth never had a chance to form. Silly Mommy! I think the Lord is trying to teach me some patience, as that is definitely not a virtue I was blessed with.

God knew he had the perfect Mama for this sweet little one.

hmmm... my comment was deleted... hope this doesn't come twice!

In any case, I was not blessed with patience either. And my older son cracked his first tooth at 12 months when he landed on a coffee table. Glad to hear your little one is progressing well!

How have I missed your blog??? I love it. We have so much in common...Aside from the obvious, Lincoln was also born on a vacation. We were down in NC from Toronto visiting for Christmas in 2006 when he was born. I swear we've chatted back and forth or something, but I'm drawing a blank. Either way, I love your blog and your trust in the Lord. I't so refreshing :)

Finally!!! The blogging hiatus is over!! We've missed you!

So I love the part about how you would tell them "look at his NEW outfit!" Frankly, I think it's very important that every new outfit get its proper "oohhs" and "ahhs".

So happy to hear Kyle is making great strides!!!

we had our son going to a physical as well as educational therapist for about a year when he was 2...

beleive me, that can drive you crazy.. just trust in yourself that no matter what they say, no one knows your son better than you.

My son was in the 'slower' category and I hated the charts and the specialists asking me all those questions. His teacher shared this with me http://heidisnotes.blogspot.com/2007/11/butterfly.html
Check it out--it melted my heart!
Hope you are enjoying the weather--we've been out a bunch too!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It looks like you have two wonderful children. I'm sorry there will always be worry, isn't that the job of a mother?!

I am so glad to hear that you were able to give a good report this time. It always feels so good being able to do that. I just know that both of them will be walking soon and we will be chasing them all over the house. Did Kyle like the carnation stuff? OK so I am starting to feel a little left out here. I love carepages but it seems like you all have so much fun on the blogging thing. Maybe I will have to make Rylee a page also. I guess I could just do both of them. Give Kyle kisses for us.
