"Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God. Being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.” Romans 4:20-21

It has been an exciting couple days. First, Kyle hit 4 pounds!!! Which means, he was moved to a "big boy" crib today. No more isolette! Another milestone of hitting 4 pounds is that, starting tomorrow, we are allowed to put our own clothes on him. Madison and Joe flew down tonight, and as the big sister, Madison insists on picking out his first outfit. We'll definitely post pictures of it tomorrow.

Kyle continues to make improvements with his breathing. Tuesday his PEEP was lowered to 5 and he has tolerated it wonderfully. Today the doctor switched his breathing to 6 hours on CPAP, 6 hours on nasal cannula. They'll try this for a couple days and then move him to nasal cannula completely. Between the open crib and his nasal cannula, we have so much more access to him! Before, we had to "schedule" holding sessions with his nurse. It was such a big ordeal to take him out of his isolette because they had to disconnect all of is various monitors and the breathing machine. With the open crib, we can now just pick him up whenever we want, at least why he is on the nasal cannula. Plus, it does not have to be for a minimum of an hour as before. Madison, along with Joe and I, had always feared that she would not be able to sit still for that long with him. When Madison arrived tonight, she was allowed to hold him for the first time...we shouldn't have worried, after an hour and a half, we had to make Madison give him up!

Thanks be to God for you all.

God Bless,

Jennifer, Joe, Madison and Kyle

Madison had to be so thrilled to finally get to hold her baby brother. What a beautiful picture of your TWO children. I love the picture of Kyle today. He looks so bright with his eyes open.

I had a repairman out yesterday - he told me he had an eleven week old baby. I told him about Kyle and that he is the same age and his due date is still a month away.

I am so happy that things are going so well for all of you. You will all be home and together before you know it.

What a beautiful picture of Madison holding her little brother! And Kyle actually looks BIG compared to a few weeks ago. Look how far you all have come! We are so happy you can be together for a few days, and we look to the future when you can all be together at home.
P.S. Thanks for sharing his first bath with us!
Love,
Aunt Karen

WOW! What significant improvements!!! Kyle indeed looks wonderful and Madison appears to be an expert at holding him...as if she has done this all along. And, the stats are wonderful...breathing and weight. Everyone always comments on how much cuter baby/little girl clothes are compared with baby/little boy clothing but I am sure every time you dress Kyle you will experience gratitude and victory. How exciting to have Joe and Madison there as you realize these new achievements. Blessings on your family. Laura

Hi everyone -
I can't believe how big Kyle is and so handsome! I also can't wait to see his first outfit. I hope you enjoy every moment together as a family this weekend. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! You are sure the best mother that any child could ever hope for. We are anxiously awaiting your return to Ohio so we can plan a trip. It certainly doesn't seem far off with all this progress!

Love and Miss you!
