April 7, 2007

Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go; tell his disciples and Peter, He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you." Mark 16:2-7

Kyle had his last dose of antibiotics around 9:00 pm yesterday. Last night, his oxygen hovered around 60%. The Nurse Practitioner wanted to be proactive and had his breathing tube replaced this morning and ordered some additional tests. It appears Kyle has (or still has) an infection. It is extremely frustrating to Jennifer and me to comprehend how Kyle can get an infection while he was on antibiotics...?

On a less somber note, Kyle's weight is up to 2 lbs. 6 oz. When I got to the hospital this morning, Kyle had a FULL diaper. As the nurse was changing him, he decided to make a bigger mess! I was so thankful that he did, because I was able to hold Kyle for the first time today while the nurse changed his bedding. During kangaroo care, the nurse places Kyle on your chest. But when I was holding him today, it was truly amazing how something so light can leave such a heavy impression on oneself.

Tomorrow, we are going to Sea World for a Sunrise Celebration Service at 7:00 am. Kirk Cameron is speaking at the service (the actor from the 80’s TV show Growing Pains). I’m pretty sure Jennifer had a poster of him hanging up in her room when she was an adolescent…Later in the day we are heading to Melbourne, FL to visit with Jennifer’s Aunt Dawn and Uncle Bob who will have their house boat in the area. It will be good to be with family on Easter…

We will not be posting the blog tomorrow, so I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter!

He has risen. He has risen indeed!!

In Christ,

Joe, Jennifer, Madison and Kyle

Happy Easter! Christ is risen!

It is wonderful that you will get to spend time with family this Easter. Aunt Dawn, if you're reading this, blessings to you and yours, and hugs from Earl and Karen. With it being 25 degrees in Atlanta this morning (after several weeks in the 70's and 80's and everything in full bloom), I have to say it makes me just a little jealous that you're enjoying the houseboat. ha ha. We covered all the azaleas last night and just came in, freezing cold, from removing the coverings. I bet those of you in snow country are snickering at our misfortune, though, aren't you?

Matt and Meagan are going to church with us this morning, and then we are all going to Earl's Aunt Elouise's for dinner, so we'll be with family also.

Enjoy a wonderful Easter together, and all the while we will be praying that every aspect of Kyle's development be molded by God's hand.

We love you,
Aunt Karen

Dear Jennifer, Joe, Madison, and Kyle:

Happy Easter! We wish we could all be with you to celebrate this glorious day, and are happy to know you will be with family.

So glad to hear that Kyle continues to grow. We are certain he will get stronger each day and that the doctors will be able to identify the infection and help him recover soon.

We love you all very much and you are constantly in our thoughts and prayer.

Angela, Joe, Katie, Grandma Mary, and Grandpa Ted

Hi guys!! Happy Easter! Was so glad to hear that you were able to spend the day with family, especially on such a special day as Easter is. Have been thinking about you all this weekend and hoping that you are enjoying your time together. Not sure when you head back Joe, so if we don't get to see you this time we will see you next time you are here. Take care. Cristi, Cary and Owen

Good morning everyone
I'm so glad you all got to be with Aunt Dawn & Uncle Bob yesterday for Easter.I'm glad you also got to meet my sister Jean. She called me and told me all the news about your day together. Thanks also for the telephone call to me Sunday afternoon, what a great surprise to hear from you all.I sure wish I could of been down there with you all, thats where my heart was being there with you guys.

Hope Kyle is doing good today and hope they find out what is going on with the infection, maybe they just need to give him a extra round of medicine to make sure it is gone, but I'm sure they know what their doing more than I do, so better leave it up to them. He is really starting to put fat on those bones it sounds like and that is so good, before long he will be big, they sure don't stay little long. I hate to see them grow up so fast, wish they could stay little longer, but not as little as Kyle of cource.

Well just wanted to say glad you all had a good Easter together and Joe you and Madison have a good trip home tomorrow. I know you will hate to leave each other, but won't be long I bet till Kyle will be coming to Ohio I hope, thats what I am praying for him to grow and get to go home soon so you can all be together as a family.

You all take care and enjoy your last days together. I love you all and will be praying for your trip home and also Kyle and Jenny.

In His Name, Aunt Sandra

I'm glad you were able to be with family over the holiday. We miss you all so much. It didn't seem like a typical holiday with all of us so far apart. We pray for you daily. Thank you for opening us up spiritually. This Easter Mason said his favorite part about the holiday was the Miracle of Jesus rising. I know that although we have been talking a lot about this lately it is through you, Jennifer that the Lord is working. You have all risen to the occasion and through you and with you and for you the Lord is reaching people everywhere. Prayers to you all, Love Niki, Bill, and Mason
