"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:28-31.
Kyle has had a relatively quite day. We are still waiting for the results of the quantitative CMV tests. Once the results are know, Kyle's doctor will consult with the CMV experts in Birmingham, AL to discuss further treatments. Hopefully we will have the test results on Tuesday.....According to Kyle's doctor; he does not appear to be a candidate for the 'toxic' drugs used to treat CMV at this point.

Last night Kyle became so enraged when his nurse was performing her hands-on assessment that she had to manually 'bag' is oxygen. As a result, I have not been allowed to kangaroo with Kyle, hopefully tonight I'll be allowed. He doesn't like to be bothered..... Earlier today, Kyle managed to pull out his feeding tube, spilling Mommy's milk all over his bedding. He is starting to become so active, I can imagine how much he would be kicking in Mommy's belly......

Kyle's platelet count continues to increase.......and Monday will be his last cycle of the steroids.
At this point, it doesn't appear that the steroids have helped significantly....In due time though.
I hear there is already a buzz in the media if Kyle thrives in athletics (unlike his father), whether the steroids gave him an unfair advantage versus other kids....

Much Love,

Joe, Jennifer, Madison and Kyle

Joe, It is good for you to keep your sense of humor at this point! By the time Kyle is a professional athlete, steroids will most likely be permissable and some new chemical will be the illegal one of choice!!!! He is clearly deomnstrating the tenacity and fighting spirit of an athlete.
I will pray for favorable results for all his concerns and especially that for today and each of your remaining days in Florida you have the pleasure of holding him! Laura Austin

My daughter Rylee (room 2145) and I say a prayer everyday while I am with her for her to grow and Kyle to get better also. If you ever need anything while Jennifer is gone, I am just a few rooms away. I know that we have not meet, but Rylee and Kyle were neighbors in the old NICU unit and now are both in the private rooms. I think of Kyle everyday and hope he can also get off the vent soon. Both of our kids seem to be hanging together since they both are 8 weeks and on the vent. Breanne Davis
