"Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands." Psalm 78:7

Kyle turned six months old last week!!! We are so blessed (and amazed!) at how far Kyle has come since then. It has been quite the ride!

Something to make you aware of... On Wednesday Kyle is scheduled for surgery to repair his hernias. Hernias are very common in preemies because their stomach muscles are not fully developed at birth...as a result, the babies intestines/bowel can easily "pop" through the muscles. The surgeon will push Kyle's intestines back into place and then stitch the muscles up. Rylee just had the same surgery a couple of weeks ago and other than some soreness afterwards, did very well. The surgery itself will take place at Cleveland Clinics Children's Hospital. Typically this type of surgery is done on an outpatient basis, but with Kyle's history, they would like to keep him overnight. There is a 30-50% incidence of apnea and bradycardia post-op in ex-preemies undergoing general anesthesia. While once a daily struggle, I have not had to worry or think about A's and B's in so long! If you remember, the A's (Apnea) is where the baby "forgets" to breath while the B's (Bradycardias) are when the babies heart temporarily stops beating. Kyle is quite the little fighter and I am sure he will be fine, but please keep him in your prayers none the less.

School starts tomorrow and Madison is so excited to begin Second Grade. Making it even more special, Madison has the same teacher this year, whom she (as well I!) absolutely loves. I guess today is the unofficial end of summer, which is always bittersweet.

We will update you on on Kyle's surgery as soon as possible. I am doubtful that we will have Internet access from the hospital, so it most likely will not be until we return home on Thursday.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

Much Love,

Jennifer, Joe, Madison and Kyle

AUNT SANDRA SAYS
What good pictures and how big Kyle is getting. Wow he is holding his head up so good and what big eyes he has, can't believe his is getting so big and those pants are so cute to.I hate he has to have another surgury, but maybe it will be the last for a while. I will be praying all goes well and he gets to come home real soon and get back to normal.

Madison's pictures are good also. She has really become a great little mommie and I know a big help to you both. I can't beleive how she takes such good care of Kyle as little as she is, but she has alway been like that from the start. She is so presious and I know you are both so proud of her as well as Kyle. I am glad she has a good teacher again this year as that makes school so much better for them when they like their teacher or it does to my granddaughter anyway. If she is as good in school as she is a little sister (mommie)I bet she is really good.I hope she has a good 2nd grade this year. My granddaughter is in the 4th grade this year and she loves it.

Well it is so good to hear from you again and remember I will be praying for you all Wed. as I do all the time. Just keep us informed when you get home and I will be so grateful. May God give you added strength as He has in the past to go thru this again. He has been so very good to you all and I thank Him everyday for all He has done in your lifes.

Take care of them both and again give them both a big hug and kiss from me and tell them I love them.

Much Love & Prayers, Aunt Sandra

Jennifer, Beautiful pictures in sepia. And, yes, it is good to see Kyle holding his head up high.
Kelley already asked me to be praying for Kyle's surgery on Wednesday. You sound relaxed though it is always hard to see our children in any kind of pain. However, Kyle probably already knows he has been surrounded by loving parents, family and friends who have supported and cared for him his entire life in extraordinary measure as well as has sensed God's tender mercy and exceedingly powerful grip on his yound life. As you have stated, this little guy is an amazing fighter with a sweet spirit which will sustain him yet again. All adversity to date has been met and conquered. This appears to be the last goal for awhile. Love, Laura

What beautiful pictures of your beautiful children. We will certainly keep Kyle in our prayers regarding his surgery tomorrow. I will send an e-mail to our church about him right now also. Continue keeping the faith - God has brought you soooo far - God is so good!
Love,
Aunt Karen

Jennifer and Joe,
We will be praying for you all tomorrow. I know that everything will be just fine. Rylee did great and like you said was just a little sore. I kept her up on Tylenol every four hours to help her out. Just make sure that they give him something like that in the hospital. They were not going to give Rylee anything unless I asked them to. Our prayers are with you all. My mom says that she has a hard time posting, but she is praying for you also. God will be with Kyle once again!!
