"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Madison arrived safe and sound on Saturday. Words cannot describe how wonderful it was to finally be able to hug her! At her request, we went straight from the airport to the hospital so that she could meet her baby brother. We had so many fears that Madison would be overwhelmed and frightened (as Joe and I were) upon seeing Kyle for the first time, but she did awesome. Kyle does not like to be bothered with by the nurses to have his vitals done. When Madison arrived, they were taking his vitals, such the natural big sister she is already, she put her finger in his isolette and Kyle grabbed onto it...Madison told him, "You are feisty like me, we're going to get along great!" She has been in love with him ever since.

The results of the EKG came back last night, and unfortunately, the ductus has not closed. Kyle began another round of medicine to see if a second dose will close it. He finishes the last dose today and another EKG is scheduled for Tuesday. Tomorrow Kyle also has a brain ultrasound scheduled to check for Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH) which is a type of bleeding from fragile blood vessels in the brain. Most intraventicular hemorrhages occur in the first week of life, so the doctors always wait until the baby is one week old to check for bleeding. Most often, there is a small amount of bleeding, and the doctors will grade Kyle's bleeding anywhere from 1 to 4, with 4 being the worst. The more bleeding that occurs, the greater risk of long-term brain injury. Tomorrow is a big day as far as tests go....PLEASE PRAY FOR POSITIVE RESULTS!!!

I am attaching some pictures of Kyle...finally! I don't think that pictures acurately portray just how little he is...but hopefully the picture with the pen will give you some perspective. His head is the size of a small fist, his arms are the size of a small index finger and his torso is about as big as Joe's wrist. God has created this tiny miracle that is the most beautiful baby in the world to us.
Much Love,

Joe, Jennifer, Madison and Kyle

Hi Joe, Jennifer and Madison:

I was wondering if Madison made it OK after I put her on the plane Saturday afternoon. I had to assume 'no news was good news'.

What a beautiful little guy Kyle is! He is indeed a miracle to behold. We are praying that all his tests are favorable so that he can concentrate on getting big and strong like Daddy.

There are many us who would like you to publish an address as to where we can send cards, care packages, etc. to you at your new digs. Please let us know.

Enjoy your visit with your family and I'll talk to you soon.

Remind Madison that Sunday is our American Girl Fashion Show outing.

Love,
PattieCakes

Hi y'all! We love the pictures. Kyle's beautiful!!!! He may be small, but what a miraculous gift from God. We love him so much already. I know he must feel all of us pulling for only good things for him. Wishing you a positive day tomorrow. Hopefully, the second time is the charm with the meds to close the ductus.

Glad Madison is enjoying the visit. Talk about a special daughter. Oh my gosh, she's a real trooper.

Take care of yourselves!

Love and Prayers,

Uncle Bob and Aunt Lynn

Dear Jennifer, Joe and Madison,
We are so happy to see pictures of Kyle. What a precious little guy. This may be a stupid question, but have you been able to hold him yet? Or can you at least touch him while he's in the isolette? I love picturing in my mind his holding onto Madison's hand. Just like God is holding onto Kyle's hand. We will be praying for God's divine intervention for Kyle as he undergoes additional tests tomorrow. There is nothing too big -- or too little -- for God!
We love you,
Earl and Karen

Hi Jennifer, Joe, Madison and Kyle,

What a beautiful little guy Kyle is, a true miracle. He is definitely in Gods loving hands and getting stronger every day. All things are possible through Him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all concerning the tests tomorrow. I believe in the power of prayer and in the power of God and pray his healing touch will be on Kyle.
Tell Madison how proud I am of her courage (for flying alone) and for reaching out to her baby brother. He needs all the help he can get right now. What a great girl she is.
I'll see you Friday. I can't wait to meet my new precious grandson.

God Bless you all,
Love and prayers,

Mom

Hi Jennifer, Joe and Madison,
Kyle is, indeed, beautiful---how wonderfully made and knitted together, we are. He even looks peaceful so it is hard to imagine the "fight to survive" which is going on inside that delicate body.
Today's test results sound critical so we will be praying extra hard.
Our thoughts are with you constantly. Laura

Dear Jennifer, Joe, and Madison:

Thank you so much for posting the pictures of Kyle. I'm overwhelmed by how beautiful this child is. I printed wallet size pictures for everyone here in Las Vegas. Aunt Lynn and Uncle Bob will be arriving tonight and I will give them both a picture, too.

So glad Madison is there with you. As always, you are in our daily thoughts and prayers.

All our love,

Angela, Joe, Katie, Grandma Mary, and Grandpa Ted

Hi, everyone!

What a beautiful angel Kyle is!!! He is indeed small, but just as mighty! We are continuing to pray constantly for all of you...

We are so proud of Madison for her strength and endurance through this experience, as well as for the love she has for her brother. We can just imagine her holding onto her brother, and it is certainly a tear-jerker.

We cannot even begin to describe our admiration for Joe and Jennifer--it is simply inexplicable. You all are a true testament of God's unfailing love and grace...

God holds you in the palm of his hand, and we're praying for the miracles bestowed upon each one of you.

Will all our love,
The Suchan Family
